The only problem with the room was lack of ventilation on a very hot day. everything else was good, food, location, service and value for money.
Location
I visited Glasgow to see the Charles Mackintosh museum, cafes, buildings etc.

Large bright airy clean room.
Location
Difficult to access. A local street map showing how to reach the hotel, would have saved time spent discovering closed off access roads.

I loved the spacious rooms and their cleanliness and the roomy closets. The tray with tea, coffee, and biscuits, added to a nice welcome. The staff in the reception area were pleasant, polite, helpful when we asked questions about getting about, and had a sense of humour, which goes a long way. Food was plentiful, delicous, and served in a pleasant room. The staff in the dining area were young, energetic, and willing to please, to ensure we were well served.
An area which could have been improved, is a nicer finishing job to a patch on the ceiling which stuck out like a sore thumb. My daughter called the imperfections "whimsical." We also couldn't close the windows as they seemed to be stuck. I am glad the weather was pleasant during our stay.
Location
I loved the fact that we were central, and Byres Road has a lot to offer: the gorgeous Botanic Gardens, library if you need to access the internet, subway station to whisk you to City Centre, Tesco's to pick up a sandwich and salad if you did not want to eat out, Gregg's for their goodies, shops, restaurants. The many charity shops were fun to poke around in. The area we were in felt safe, and there were opportunities for exploration. I would go back in a minute.

Basic accomodations were neat, clean and practical - not fancy butclean and well cared for. Telephone in my room did not work my entire stay. Some may see that as a drawback but I thought it was a benefit. For anyone with a disability, there are six steps getting in to the hotel and only 1 room on the ground floor which has 2 steps up in to the bathroom. The staff at the hotel was amazing! They were so friendly and helpful at all hours of the day and night. If they didn't know an answer, they looked until they found one. Breakfasts were wonderful. Because of the great hotel staff I'll stay at the Heritage Hotel every time I'm in Glasgow.
Location
Close to the University of Glasgow, Orem Mor, Byers Street dining and the Botanic Gardens. Close stop for the big red bus (sightseeing bus) and bus stops for city busses in front of the hotel
